I am pretty sure that if chance had it we would see right-handed amino acids in lifeforms everywhere unless there is some fundamental physical asymmetry at play here we haven't discovered yet. God has no hands :) But he must be smart in a god-like manner.

As my faith is that science reveals how this universe and all in it was created, I really believe that only a god-like creature is able to anticipate all what evolves out of some handful of fundamental causal relationships between matter and energy in our universe (and it is not a given that an universe is able to evolve like this - we as physicists can think of a lot of universes that aren't). This is the miracle I still enjoy to explore. That something as wonderful and complex as this happens by chance, that is what I cannot believe.
