Since Ive left, Apple fixed almost all design flaws in the iMac and the Macbook Pro design. Ive would never had allowed a Mac studio design with TB connectors and SD card slot at the front where they belong (at least some of them). The iMac did not feature any adjustment option for the display at all. The Macbook Pro got its very much needed connectors back.
And if you really want the Studio Display and want to keep flexibility, take the VESA mounted version. There you have it: exchangeable stands.
However unless you really need a 5K monitor with 3D audio and a 4K center-stage Facetime camera, you may assemble a better setup using displays, cameras and sound equipment from other vendors.
Unlike a feeled majority of folks writing about Apple products I never considered Ive to be a good designer. He wasn't. He styled products as eye-catchers, rendering features of them partially or completely unusable. My brother is a designer and I learned a thing or two from him about design principles. With Ive, form ruled over function which is just the opposite of how things are supposed to be. Design isn't just about making things beautiful. The most important aspect of good design is making things easy and comfortable to use.
