The privacy mechanism of Find my, delivering location data recorded by other iDevices encrypted to the owner of the located device, using public keys generated by a seed only the devices of the owner know about, is a marvellous construction. This should be a textbook example for applied cryptography.

And it has been, not a year ago, where Find my helped me to recover my wallet, which slipped my pocket while I was out for lunch. It had an airtag in it just for such an occasion, so I was able to confirm that the wallet was in the restaurant. It was found by personell (or other guests and handed over) and stored away in a safe. The rest was walking over to the restaurant, recover the wallet and thank the nice people there.
