There is no Lilith in the Book of Genesis. English versions of the Bible do not contain her name at all, german versions have Lilit in Jes 34,14: "Wüstentiere treffen auf Hyänen, / Bocksgeister begegnen einander. Ja, Lilit macht dort Rast / und findet für sich einen Ruheplatz." The King James Bible has this as " The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest."

Lilith is a female demon of sumerian origin. By mentioning her Jesaja adds to the description of the world as a dreadful place in Jesaja 34,1-1 during the "Judgement of the nations".
